Poste :
UM6P Corelabs is recruiting a dedicated and skilled Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team within the Optical microscopy platform in Bioscience Corelab. UM6P Corelabs will serve as a platform to support technical and scientific research within UM6P and as a service provider to external customers.
The CoreLab technician will be responsible for performing laboratory tasks, operating and maintaining equipment, and ensuring the smooth execution of daily activities to support both internal UM6P researchers and faculty as well as external clients.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Laboratory Operations:
- Perform sample reception, storage, preparation, and processing.
- Analyze, process, and integrate tissue samples
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as microtomes, cryostats and tissue processors.
- Verify the quality and reliability of collected data.
- Assist in identifying laboratory needs and testing new equipment.
Sample Preparation and Analysis:
- Prepare and process biological samples following established protocols.
- Produce high-quality histology slides.
- Perform quality control on samples
- Carry out analytical tasks as required for laboratory experiments.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities.
Protocols and Methods :
- Follow and support the implementation of laboratory procedures.
- Contribute to the improvement of preparation techniques.
General Responsabilities:
- Handle and organize laboratory supplies and consumables.
- Ensure correct storage and handling of samples.
- Provide basic technical assistance to researchers and laboratory users.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures in the laboratory.
- Participate in the divisions accreditation process.
- Support daily laboratory activities as needed.
Candidate Qualifications :
- Bachelors or masters degree in biology, histology, plant or vegetal Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field, preferably with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in histology, anatomy, anatomopathology (for plant and/or animal tissues), immunohistochemistry, as well as various sample staining techniques.
- Practical experience in laboratory sample preparation, ideally in histology or biosciences.
- Familiarity with laboratory instruments such as microtomes, cryostats, staining systems, and other preparation tools.
- Ability to follow strict protocols and manage detailed, precise work.
- Familiarity with lab safety protocols and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills (time and priority management)
- Excellent communication skills (French and English).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to multi-task without compromising quality and accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Formation :Licence ou Master en biologie, histologie, sciences vegetales, biotechnologie ou domaine connexe, avecidealement 2 ans dexperiencepertinente.

Competences techniques :Bonne maitrise de lhistologie, lanatomie, lanatomopathologie (vegetale et/ou animale), limmunohistochimie, et diverses techniques de coloration.

Experience pratique en preparation dechantillons de laboratoire, idealement en histologie ou biosciences.

Bonne connaissance des instruments de laboratoire tels que microtomes, cryostats, systemes de coloration, etc.

Capacite a suivre des protocoles stricts et a executer un travail rigoureux et precis.
