Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Research Engineer to join our team in the phosphate processing industry. As a Research Engineer, you will play a crucial role in advancing our organization's research and development efforts related to phosphate processing technologies. You will be responsible for conducting experiments, analyzing data, and developing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and product quality in our phosphate processing operations.

Based in the OCP chemical complex in Jorf Lasfar, The Institute of Applied Research & Technology, IART, is an applied R&D center of UM6P that focuses on developing new technologies and scaling them up to bridge the gap between academia and industry. It serves national and international clients and is collaborating with key leaders in the field of applied R&D.

Responsibilities:
Conduct research and development activities focused on improving phosphate processing techniques, including beneficiation, flotation, metallurgy and chemical treatment processes.
Design and execute laboratory-scale experiments to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of new processing methods and equipment.
Collect and analyze data obtained from experiments, interpret results, and prepare technical reports summarizing findings.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process optimization opportunities, troubleshoot operational issues, and develop practical solutions.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in phosphate processing technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and drive innovation.
Collaborate with external research partners, academic institutions, and industry experts to leverage their expertise and insights in advancing our research goals.
Participate in scale-up activities from laboratory to pilot plant and provide technical support during the implementation of new processing technologies.
Assist in the development and improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for phosphate processing operations to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment, adhere to laboratory protocols, and comply with relevant safety regulations.
Contribute to intellectual property development through patent filings and publications in scientific journals.

Profil recherché :
Qualifications:
Diplome dIngenieurs detat in Chemical Engineering, Process engineering, Materials Science, Hydrometallurgy or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred.
Solid understanding of phosphate processing principles, including beneficiation, flotation, chemical treatment, Hydrometallurgy and solid-liquid separation.
1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in laboratory operations or chemical industry processes is highly desirable.
Experience in conducting laboratory-scale experiments and operating analytical instruments for material characterization is preferred.
Proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, and process modeling tools/software.
Knowledge of process optimization techniques, experimental design, and statistical analysis.
Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations governing the phosphate processing industry.
Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and in French, with the ability to prepare technical reports and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Prior experience in the phosphate processing industry or related fields is a plus.
