About the Position

Join the Applied Chemistry and Engineering Research Center of Excellence (ACER-CoE) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University as a Postdoctoral Researcher specializing in non-thermal plasma-based hydrogen production. This role focuses on developing innovative, sustainable methods for hydrogen generation using plasma technologies that operate at relatively low temperatures and atmospheric pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and operate non-thermal plasma reactors for hydrogen production
  • Study the influence of operating conditions (gas composition, discharge power, pressure, and reactor configuration) on hydrogen production efficiency
  • Investigate plasma-catalyst interactions and reaction mechanisms using advanced diagnostic techniques
  • Use optical emission spectroscopy (OES) and laser diagnostic tools to characterize plasma properties and quantify reactive species
  • Perform material characterization using XRD, SEM, FTIR, and ICP-OES techniques

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Plasma Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields
  • Strong interest in plasma processes, energy conversion, and catalysis
  • Experience in spectroscopy and reactor design
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, LABVIEW, or comparable technical computing and simulation environments
  • Familiarity with material characterization techniques (XRD, SEM, FTIR, ICP-OES)
  • Excellent English communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively

Advantages

  • Experience in laser spectroscopy
