Role Overview
As an Algo Quant Analyst supporting Bernstein SG's electronic execution activities, you will conduct quantitative research and analysis on individual orders, execution strategies and market structure. You will translate analytical findings into client-consulting materials, performance insights and practical improvements to transaction-cost analysis (TCA) and order-monitoring capabilities, leveraging AI-powered workflows and automation initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative research on individual orders and order sets for client consulting and analytical publications
- Analyse execution performance, provide intraday benchmark feedback and assess VWAP/TWAP slippage with market-impact analysis
- Design and optimise quantitative research for new algorithmic execution strategies
- Develop analytical tools and systems for transaction-cost analysis, order monitoring and mid-order reforecasting
- Contribute to research publications (Whitebooks, Spotlights) on market structure topics
- Document methodologies, assumptions, outputs and controls; ensure compliance with risk and internal-control requirements
Required Profile
- Strong quantitative background in mathematics, statistics, econometrics, financial engineering or computer science
- Good understanding of equity market microstructure, electronic trading and algorithmic execution
- Experience analysing execution benchmarks, transaction costs, liquidity and market-impact drivers
- Programming capability in Python, SQL or comparable technologies
- Strong knowledge of data validation, back-testing principles and analytical controls
- Ability to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
AI & Automation Competencies
- Strong understanding of AI and machine-learning concepts applicable to trading and execution analytics
- Ability to use AI-assisted tools for quantitative research, statistical analysis and insight generation
- Experience evaluating AI-generated outputs through quantitative testing and back-testing
- Familiarity with predictive modelling, time-series analysis and AI-assisted forecasting
- Experience with Python-based data-science and machine-learning ecosystems
- Understanding of explainable AI, model validation, bias detection and AI governance
