Job Purpose

Join the Operation Team at BASF | Nunhems Italy in Sant'Agata Bolognese as an Area Production Specialist North. You will manage, monitor, and provide advice on agricultural aspects of seed production to meet production plans and ensure consistent supply of high-quality commercial and stock seed. National and international travel within Italy and Europe is required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitor and supervise production sites in North Italy, including production stations, bulbils preparation facilities, and fields
  • Coordinate seasonal workers (7-70 temporary employees) and schedule daily/weekly tasks for production teams and field technicians
  • Ensure proper field inspections, required certifications, and timely shipping of bulbils; coordinate with suppliers
  • Manage EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) aspects, maintain production site equipment, and coordinate external maintenance companies
  • Provide stakeholder updates on crop production activities, yield, purity, and germination issues through regular communication and monthly reporting
  • Support field technicians with practical agricultural activities: chemical spraying, tractor/forklift operation, tunnel construction, and transplanting during busy seasons

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field with 3 years of farming/agronomic experience
  • Expert knowledge of seed production and operational techniques
