Position Overview
The Center for African Studies seeks a researcher to submit a proposal on global health, public health in Africa, and history of medicine. The research will document the development of chronic diseases on the continent and examine measures being taken to address this problem, exploring the link between chronic diseases and public health, and how public health expands to become global health.
The candidate will collaborate with the Medical School and teach medical ethics in English.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive bibliographic reviews on global health and public health in Africa
- Prepare reports and publish scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals
- Organize workshops and academic events related to health research
- Teach courses, including medical ethics in English
Required Qualifications and Skills
- PhD in history, philosophy, anthropology, sociology, or psychology
- Strong scientific background to address research questions and mobilize main approaches in the field
- Scientific and methodological expertise to combine research approaches in analysis and problem resolution
- Professional or research experience in bibliographic analysis and scientific writing
- Rigor, motivation, excellent communication skills, and teamwork abilities
- Ability to teach medical ethics in English
