About the Role
Mohammed VI Polytechnic University seeks a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to join the Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering (CBS) Department. You will lead groundbreaking research on developing green and sustainable electrochemical methodologies for synthesizing phosphorus derivatives, addressing industrial demand while minimizing environmental impact.
Main Responsibilities
- Green Electrochemical Synthesis: Establish innovative, environmentally friendly electrochemical procedures for producing green phosphorus intermediates using P-X bond creation, redox reactions, catalysis, and related techniques.
- Experimental Validation: Design and conduct laboratory and pilot-scale experiments to validate feasibility and scalability of developed processes for industrial applications.
- Analysis and Characterization: Employ analytical techniques including EM, SEM, AFM, XPS, UV-Vis, IR, cyclic voltammetry, and NMR to characterize synthesized compounds and intermediates.
- Synthesis and Mechanistic Design: Contribute to designing and synthesizing novel phosphorus derivatives while understanding electrochemical reaction mechanisms.
- Sustainability Focus: Ensure all research aligns with green principles, minimizing carbon footprint in phosphorus derivative synthesis.
- Publication and Reporting: Collaborate on scientific reports, research publications, and present results and data analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, or related field with strong electrochemical methods background
- Proven experience developing green and sustainable electrochemical methodologies and synthesis
- Solid knowledge of electrochemistry, chemical analyses, and structural characterization techniques
- Proficiency in scientific writing, report preparation, and communication in French and English
- Motivated, adaptable, and collaborative team player
