Competitive Programming Expert – AI Training Data Creator (Freelance)

About This Opportunity

Mindrift connects specialists with project-based AI opportunities for leading tech companies. You'll create competitive-programming problems and automatic graders used to train advanced AI coding models. This is project-based work, not permanent employment.

What You'll Do

• Write original algorithmic problems with clear statements, sound constraints, and intended solutions
• Develop correct solutions in C++ and Python, plus realistic wrong solutions to test edge cases
• Build and harden test cases using generators, edge cases, stress tests, and hacking tests
• Write checkers and interactors (testlib) for problems with multiple valid answers
• Verify quality: correct solutions pass, wrong ones fail, all within time limits

What We Look For

• Strong competitive programming background with public profile (Codeforces rating 1700+, or IOI/ICPC/national-olympiad record)
• Fluent C++ (STL, complexity analysis); comfortable with Python
• Ability to identify why solutions fail and construct breaking test cases
• Strong written English (C1+ level)

Experience Levels

• Associate – Codeforces 1700–2100: easier problems
• Expert – Codeforces 2200–2600: harder problems
• Senior/Reviewer – Codeforces 2600+ or IOI/ICPC medalist: hardest problems and quality review

Nice to Have

• IOI/ICPC alumni status or top competitive programming achievements
• Experience setting or testing problems for real contests
• Testlib expertise (checkers, validators, generators)
• Experience creating LLM code benchmark or RL evaluation datasets

Project Time & Compensation

Tasks estimated at 10–20 hours per week during active phases. Paid per accepted task; rate depends on qualification tier and efficiency, up to $90/hr equivalent. Faster completion raises effective hourly rate.
