Job Purpose

The Handyman will be responsible for a wide variety of repairs and maintenance activities, applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems to ensure that KOFISI facilities remain tidy and functional at all times.

Main Responsibilities

Perform all handyman duties within KOFISI Centres, including fitting, assembling, and altering internal and external fixtures such as flooring, walls, partitions, doors, windows and frames
Fabricate and repair items used by various departments, and restore furnishings where possible
Carry out routine preventative maintenance in line with job schedules and direction from the Maintenance Supervisor
Manage tools and equipment securely, report damages immediately, and maintain adequate stock of maintenance spares
Work collaboratively with department staff to provide efficient maintenance service and ensure cost-efficient use of materials
Respond to 24-hour emergency call-outs and perform any other works as directed by the Facilities Coordinator

Key Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

3 years' experience working in a similar handyman or maintenance role
Government Trade Test certification
Proficiency with hand tools (planes, chisels, saws, braces, mitres, plumbs, levels)
Proficiency with carpentry power tools (electric drills, routers, saws, hole-saws, planes)
Experience with varnishing and painting tasks

Skills & Competencies

Computer literate with proven inventory control skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to read blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogues
Strong time management, analytical skills, and attention to detail
Knowledge of relevant health and safety standards
Ability to work well under minimal supervision and lift objects up to 25 kg
Fluency in English, French, and Arabic is an added advantage
