About the Role
Lead and grow the Micro:bit Educational Foundation's partnerships across Europe (excluding UK), the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). This 12-month maternity cover position focuses on developing sustainable partnerships that accelerate the Foundation's mission in digital education, with specific emphasis on Spain and exploring opportunities in Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver partnership and programme work across EMEA with priority focus on Spain and developing insights and networks in Africa
- Build and maintain relationships with governments, Ministries of Education, NGOs and strategic partners to expand reach and impact
- Lead growth of global programmes (do your :bit, micro:bit Champions, micro:bit Live) in collaboration with the Global Partnerships team
- Represent the Foundation at regional conferences and partner meetings, serving as primary point of contact for EMEA matters
- Work cross-functionally with Education, Product, Marketing, Commercial Operations and Research teams to ensure alignment with national priorities
- Monitor digital education landscape to identify emerging opportunities and risks, and support funding conversations with leadership
Essential Requirements
- Experience working globally with an established international network and ability to expand it
- Proven experience with governments, NGOs or international education organisations
- Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills
- Ability to unite diverse teams around common goals and demonstrate entrepreneurial mindset
- Willingness to travel internationally and belief in broadening participation in digital creativity and coding
- Knowledge of micro:bit's place in education systems and curriculum
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in K12 education sector
- Knowledge of African and/or European digital and computing landscape
- Additional language skills (French, Spanish, Arabic or other)
- Familiarity with Edtech market including hardware and software
- Experience securing funding or generating income through partnerships
