Overview

As a Lead Secondary Design Engineer for High Voltage Substations at GE Vernova, you will be the technical guarantor of design works in control, protection, and low voltage systems. You will ensure design reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards while promoting ease of installation, operation, and maintenance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the design team for High Voltage Substation control systems, protection systems, electrical distribution, telecom, and monitoring infrastructure
  • Design and deliver single line diagrams, schematic diagrams, protection systems, electrical consumption calculations, and auxiliary services design
  • Ensure design reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards, protection standards, and regulations
  • Manage design reviews, gate reviews, and risk mitigation plans with formalized documentation and status tracking
  • Oversee commissioning and testing of low voltage systems and manage engineering subcontractors on specific work packages
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project documentation, continuous improvement initiatives, and customer technical support

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 5 years of High Voltage Design Engineering experience in Transmission & Distribution, STATCOM, or High Voltage substations in project and EPC environments
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% within Middle East, Africa, Europe, and other regions for short to medium periods
