About the Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Aptiv, you will play a key role in the Manufacturing Engineering Team, adopting a Lean approach to monitor equipment usage and identify improvement opportunities. You will design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes within an automotive production environment while ensuring efficiency, quality, and high safety standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Process Development & Optimization: Design, validate, and implement automated testing systems and vision inspection systems for manufacturing lines. Develop testing methods for mechanical, electrical, or functional product validation. Optimize cycle time, accuracy, and reliability of testing and vision processes.
- Equipment Management & Integration: Specify, select, and validate equipment and software for testing systems. Collaborate with equipment suppliers for integration of new testing and inspection systems. Train production and quality teams on testing and vision equipment usage and troubleshooting.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure testing systems meet customer and internal requirements. Support root cause analysis for quality issues related to testing and vision systems. Maintain traceability for inspection and testing data.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop preventive maintenance plans for testing and vision systems. Propose continuous improvement (CI) projects to enhance operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience and knowledge in testing systems with automation and machine vision skills
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing processes
- Experience in assembly technology (preferred)
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Willingness to drive continuous improvements
