The Manufacturing & Process Development Engineer performs technical tasks including research, development and the improvement of manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency, ensure safety and minimize the excessive use of resources.
Your Main Tasks
- Support Product Engineering to optimize Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Configure the best possible equipment, tools and/or processes with cost calculation to support managerial decision-making
- Lead the PFMEA for processes under development
- Master problem-solving methods with an analytical mindset
- Support introduction of new products (documents, change management and production release)
- Follow up on cost, timing and quality in NPI or strategic projects
- Control progress steps during tool/equipment build phase (global supply base)
- Provide samples and measurement reports to Product Engineering for evaluation, perform capability studies (Cp, Cpk, SPC)
- Check tools/equipment for release according to specifications
- Run acceptance tests (at supplier/plant) of equipment for release according to specifications
Your Ideal Background
- Hold an engineering degree (Bac+5) with a specialization in Automation, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience and knowledge in the field of assembly technology (Mechanical Design, Automation, PLC programming, Test programming)
- 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing field
- Knowledge of molding or stamping is a plus
- Extensive understanding of LEAN manufacturing processes
- Experience in project management is a plus
- Customer orientation and high level of commitment
- Willingness to drive continuous improvements
- Very good oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work in a matrix environment with a multicultural team
- Strategic thinking and presentation skills
