About the Role

As a Process Development Engineer, you will be part of New Product Introduction (NPI) project teams, leading the development of manufacturing processes, equipment, and specifications. You will serve as the technical leader for process development, working across internal teams (Project Management, Product Engineering, Plant, Procurement, Quality) and external suppliers.

Main Responsibilities

Lead entire process development including process definition, cost optimization, and ball parking estimates
Design cable assembly processes and tooling concepts; conduct DOE experiments and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews
Initiate and lead Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) with core team members
Create specifications for serial assembly configurations (manual, semi-automatic, full-automatic) and coordinate with responsible team members
Configure optimal equipment and processes; manage cost calculations for management presentations and decisions
Review and approve tool, fixture, and equipment designs with external suppliers; follow up on equipment qualification documentation
Monitor cost, timing, and quality throughout NPI and strategic projects; control progress during tool and equipment build phases
Run acceptance tests (R&R) at supplier and plant locations; coordinate pilot runs and resolve engineering issues to ensure manufacturing process capability meets requirements

Required Background

Engineering degree (Bac+5) in Automation, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years in cable assembly industry
Extensive knowledge of cable assembly technologies (cutting, crimping, welding, etc.)
Experience in customized machine development
Strong understanding of LEAN manufacturing processes and project management
Excellent English communication skills (oral and written)
Ability to work in matrix environments with multicultural teams
Strategic thinking and presentation skills
