About the Role
Mercor is seeking a Music & Lyrics Specialist to evaluate and assess AI-generated music and lyrics. This is a remote contract position ideal for music professionals with expertise in Arabic music and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated music across various genres and assess quality standards in Arabic and English
- Compare AI-generated lyrics with published songs to identify similarities and originality
- Rate lyrics based on quality, creativity, prompt adherence, and how naturally they sound
- Assess word choice, slang, and regional expressions for authenticity and cultural appropriateness
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines and contribute to AI model improvement
Required Qualifications
- Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic with ability to follow detailed instructions in English
- Professional experience as a songwriter, lyricist, performer, composer, or music journalist
- Knowledge of the Arabic music scene and contemporary genres
- Access to headphones or studio monitors suitable for critical listening
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training in music performance, theory, or composition
- Credited or published songwriting work
- Broad familiarity with contemporary Arabic sub-genres and artists
Position Details
- Compensation: $17–$34/hour
- Duration: Up to 6 months
- Commitment: 20+ hours/week
