About the Position

The Leuphana Transformation Lab at Leuphana University of Lüneburg is offering up to seven Postdoctoral Fellowships for outstanding researchers. This is a contract position with a duration of up to two years, starting April 1, 2027. Key Responsibilities

Research Focus Areas

Research proposals should align with one of three conceptual streams:

  • Epistemologies of Transformation
  • Disruption and Transformation
  • Scales and Temporalities of Transformation

Proposals may also connect with Key Subject Areas including climate futures in digital cultures, democratic resilience, organizing in times of crisis, regenerative society, companies as drivers of sustainability, or psychology of transformation.

Eligible Research Topics

Proposals may cover a broad range of topics including:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Demographic Change
  • Infrastructural Development
  • Anticipatory Governance
  • Adaptation Regimes
  • Sensing Technology

Methodological Approaches

The Lab welcomes interdisciplinary research and innovative methodological approaches, including participatory research, arts- or design-based methods, materially or visually experimental practices, as well as historical, normative, and theoretical work.

Requirements

  • PhD degree at time of application with proof of successfully defended doctoral dissertation
  • PhD completed within the previous three years
  • Demonstrated outstanding research achievements aligned with the Lab's focus
  • Strong understanding of transformation research and innovative research proposal
  • Applications must be submitted in English or with certified English translations
