About the Role
Join IPS (a Berkshire Hathaway company) as a QA/QC Lead at our office in Norway. You will develop, plan, manage, and administer project-specific QA/QC programs for technically complex facilities in the life sciences industry. This is a mission-critical position requiring leadership of quality assurance and control initiatives across multiple project phases.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop QC inspection scripts incorporating factory and site test inspection forms, construction completion records, and contract documents to ensure full project compliance.
- Perform onsite QC inspections at manufacturer facilities, equipment integrator sites, and project locations.
- Manage QA/QC documentation: capture testing and inspection records, identify deficiencies and non-conformance reports, verify resolution and closeout, and collect third-party quality reports.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits of facilities including electrical systems, HVAC, security, and critical infrastructure to ensure compliance with standards.
- Monitor quality of construction and maintenance work, identify deviations from standards, and recommend corrective measures.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and discrepancies; prepare comprehensive reports for management and regulatory purposes.
- Perform testing and validation on equipment and systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and security systems.
- Manage project closeout including compilation and turnover of all required QA/QC documentation.
Key Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of construction QA/QC management and inspections experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams), Bluebeam Studio/Revu, and SharePoint
- OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR certification (must be maintained during employment)
- Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds; climb ladders as necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Procore software
- Commissioning and system startup experience
Work Environment
This position involves up to 100% travel as required by assigned projects. You may be assigned to client sites for extended periods with possible overnight stays. The role is safety-sensitive with field work in construction, manufacturing, and research environments. You must adhere to strict cleanroom gowning protocols and work in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
