R&D Product Development Engineer – Tangier, Morocco

Role overview
The engineer proposes, implements and supervises technical solutions, including CAD models, detailed drawings, assembly drawings and sub-assembly drawings, based on assembly, schematics or specifications.
The engineer executes and/or supervises the plans and schematics needed to build the complete technical file and guarantees the technical feasibility of proposed solutions, taking into account customer know-how and constraints from Tools & Dies and Manufacturing Engineering.
Main tasks
- Respect TE Connectivity procedures for product development and customer specifications.
- Lead “Design to cost” and “Design reuse” initiatives.
- Create and/or design FMEA and design reviews.
- Create and/or supervise technical documentation, such as product specifications, application specifications and packaging instructions.
- Ensure TE’s intellectual property is protected, including NDAs and patent requests before sharing novel principles with customers.
- Submit innovative ideas as patent requests to the IP EMEA direction of TE.
- Take part in product qualification, including metrology analysis and follow-up of testing.
- Decide on parts conformity according to specification.
- Manage project documentation under PLM (Program Central) and follow documentation classification rules.
- Take part in PPAP documentation creation and preparation.
- Follow the product lifecycle, propose and follow improvements, and manage changes under the TE EC/TEC change system.
- Follow duplications, replacements and transfers of production equipment and formalize equipment approval in TE systems (production release).
Ideal background
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Freshly graduated and experienced candidates are invited to apply
- Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks or similar)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of automotive standards and manufacturing processes is a plus
- Strong communication skills in English
- Good level of Mandarin Chinese is required
