The TE Connectivity Industrial BCS (Board Connectivity and Sub-Systems) Business Unit has an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager Engineer at our Tangier Facility. The Industrial Business Unit provides connectivity and integrated systems solutions to customers in the Industrial, Automation, Electrification & Energy Storage markets.
As a Senior Project Manager Engineer, you will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams supporting new product development projects. You will work with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other functions across TE to ensure projects meet financial, schedule, and customer expectations. You will define and create project schedules, ensure tasks are executed per schedule, identify resource constraints, and work with management for resolution.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage Sustaining Engineering projects following established processes, focusing on Value Engineering, Transfer & Change projects in Serial Life (post Start of Production)
- Maintain project data in TE Project systems to achieve Industrial Business Unit data integrity goals
- Ensure project progress and deliverables are achieved across all business functions to ensure compliance with Stage Gate process
- Work with global project core teams to develop project schedules and budgets, driving projects to meet those targets
- Develop project P&Ls (Profit and Loss Calculations) and Budgetary Appropriation Requests to support capital expenditures
- Update and communicate project status to Project Approval Committee (PAC)
- Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to achieve committed New Product Sales (NPS) and cost savings
- Contribute to or lead continuous improvement initiatives to address systemic issues in the new product development process
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in Automotive industry with strong knowledge of CAD and continuous improvement
- Ability to manage global project teams with key functions in multiple regions
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities
- Experience in requirements evaluation, scheduling, and solving resource issues
- Proven leadership in a matrix organization, able to lead by influence without authority
- Integrative thinking and analytical skills
