About This Role
As a Staff SDET at Circles.Life, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of backend systems. This position combines software development and testing, focusing on testability, robustness, and performance of production code. You will develop automation frameworks, enhance test coverage, and mentor junior SDETs.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop test scope using test design techniques by understanding use cases, user journeys, and technical solutions
- Enhance and maintain automation frameworks for scalability, stability, and performance across backend APIs and workflows
- Collaborate with product, QA, CI/CD, and SRE teams to identify testing requirements and integrate automated tests into deployment pipelines
- Drive non-functional testing activities including performance, scalability, reliability, resilience, and security testing
- Leverage AI-assisted engineering and prompt engineering techniques to improve test design, automation development, and QA productivity
- Perform manual functional testing when required and mentor junior team members
Required Skills and Experience
- 10+ years in quality engineering with focus on test automation
- Proficiency in Java; knowledge of Golang and NodeJS is a plus
- Experience with Selenium, REST Assured, Appium, and TestNG
- Strong understanding of automation frameworks and CI/CD pipeline integration (Jenkins, Maven)
- Familiarity with SQL, NoSQL databases, message queues, and caching technologies
- Experience defining test strategies, test plans, and debugging with root cause analysis
- Understanding of SDLC/STLC and Agile processes
- Hands-on mobile app automation experience is a plus
Work Environment
You will work with HODs, senior management, engineering teams, and external customers/MNOs. Flexibility to extend working hours during weekdays and weekends until product launch and BAU phase is required.
