Tool & Die Maker III - Manufacturing Support Specialist

Job Overview

Ensures manufacturing support by providing tools and fixtures for production and evaluates the specifications of parts and completed tools. This role is critical to maintaining production efficiency and quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair complex stamping tools for cutting, bending, and assembly operations
• Prepare, adjust, and start tools in the production process; measure and validate cut products
• Monitor tool improvements and optimize cutting tools and processes for efficiency
• Attend equipment breakdowns, identify faults, and problem-solve at the press with minimal downtime
• Provide training to new recruits and report breakdown root causes and equipment faults to management
• Ensure routine servicing, regrinding, and availability of machines for production

Required Qualifications

Education

• Technician Certificate in Mechanical Manufacturing or Mechanical Manufacturing Methods

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of significant experience in tool making
• Practical, hands-on problem-solving approach
• Experience in production environments with demanding performance targets
• Understanding of production costs, waste, downtime, scrap, and rework
• Experience applying and maintaining 5S principles

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of measurement techniques and tools
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Understanding of manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing principles
• Awareness of Health & Safety requirements and best practices
