Tool & Die Maker IV - Injection Molding

Job Overview

The Tool & Die Maker IV identifies specifications and requirements of tools and recommends revisions in design, fabrication, materials, and production processes. This role focuses on mold tooling maintenance, repair, and preparation for injection molding operations.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist with disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of mold tooling components
• Clean mold components and perform visual inspections for wear or damage
• Support basic mold repairs, part replacements, and detail changeovers
• Assist with fitting and assembling mold components and checking basic alignment and clearances
• Help troubleshoot mold issues under the direction of experienced toolmakers
• Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and setup sheets
• Assist with conditioning and preparation of new molds for production
• Perform basic hand work and polishing as required
• Learn basic welding techniques (TIG/Laser) when trained and approved
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Follow all company procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines
• Complete other duties as assigned to support the tooling team

Required Qualifications

• Completion of High School required
• Solid understanding of the injection molding process required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel required
• Proficient reading design drawings and blueprints
• Ability to work flexible work hours, including unscheduled overtime when necessary
• Technical English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Automotive manufacturing experience would be an asset
• Experience in machine shop techniques would be an asset
• Basic knowledge of Laser welding would be an asset
