About the Role

As VP Manufacturing, you will lead the establishment and scaling of Harmattan AI's manufacturing capabilities in the Middle East and North Africa (MEA). This critical role enables rapid company expansion and supports the delivery of advanced autonomous defense technologies to MEA customers.

You will build and manage Harmattan AI's MEA manufacturing ecosystem, including setup and optimization of production capabilities through industrial partners and internal operations. Working closely with the Head of Manufacturing & Supply Chain, you will develop and deploy the MEA manufacturing strategy while maintaining alignment with the global industrial roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • MEA Manufacturing Strategy & Execution: Develop scalable and resilient industrial footprint; structure and manage manufacturing partnerships; ensure alignment with global industrial strategy.
  • Production & Scale Management: Direct setup and operation of production capabilities; optimize processes for scaling demands; monitor throughput, yield, cost, and quality metrics; transition prototypes to industrial production.
  • Supply Chain Management: Develop relationships with MEA manufacturing partners and suppliers; coordinate with global supply chain teams; manage production planning, logistics, and inventory flows.
  • Process Improvement: Implement Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies; drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and enhance quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as liaison between Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance; partner with R&D on manufacturability and scalability.
  • Risk & Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards (ISO, AS9100); maintain robust risk management processes; support MEA regulatory framework compliance.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Build and lead the MEA manufacturing organization; recruit, develop, and mentor high-performing teams; foster culture of ownership and excellence.
  • Business Growth Support: Scale manufacturing capabilities with commercial demand; develop strategic industrial partnerships; ensure manufacturing readiness for future programs.

Required Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership with medium- to large-scale production experience across multiple sites
  • Strong technical background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated success in robotics, aerospace, defense, or similarly complex sectors under strict time and budget constraints
  • Comfortable with advanced robotics, AI, and emerging technologies
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams under tight deadlines and high stakes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English, French, and Arabic
  • Ability to influence stakeholders from production-line personnel to senior executives
  • Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments with adaptability and ownership mentality

Preferred: International experience working across diverse geographies and cultures with ability to adapt manufacturing processes to different regulatory contexts.
