Job Overview
Provides quality and reliability engineering services to support new product development and process improvement initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
- Participate in project meetings with the customer and the project team during the entire project phase, and act as interface to the individual departments.
- Support project analysis, feasibility analysis, design reviews, and typical APQP elements within Lean Product Development through to PPAP documentation.
- Support FMEA meetings in the individual development departments to maintain and implement customer and TE requirements and quality standards.
- Execute 1st party (internal) audits during MPT, support Launch book execution, and execute the 8QB audit prior to G5 with plant support.
- Define organizational rules (forms, quality management procedures, policies, etc.) according to Lean PD and customer-specific requirements.
- Act as primary quality customer contact and quality representative up to customer release, and function as lead auditor for 2nd party (customer) audits.
Requirements
- Engineering degree, preferably with specialization in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience, including development processes within the automotive environment (Tier 1 experience preferred).
- Experience as a Quality Engineer in the IATF 16949 automotive environment is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with IATF 16949 tools, especially APQP, PPAP, Root Cause Analysis, and 8D problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of SPC, Capability Analysis, Gage R&R, and statistical techniques to work independently (APIS-IQRM Pro and Q-Stat are a plus).
- Independent and project-oriented working style with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Customer-oriented, capable of confidently representing the company at the customer's site.
- Good knowledge of the MS Office package and SAP.
- Very good communication skills in English.
