Position Overview
The AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic AM-2 performs comprehensive maintenance and inspections on AH-64 helicopter systems while maintaining FAA standards. This role requires expertise in military tactical aircraft maintenance with leadership responsibilities for junior mechanics.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform full-range military tactical aircraft maintenance on AH-64 helicopters, including assembly, modification, and repair of major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and related systems
- Install, connect, and adjust complete aircraft systems including fuel, heat, lubrication, hydraulic, engine, and transmission systems; install and align fuselage parts and flight control systems
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose malfunctions; disassemble to point of trouble and repair, realign, or replace defective components
- Direct and supervise lower-graded mechanics; coordinate with related trades to ensure proper assembly sequence and aircraft checkout
- Prepare maintenance forms, records, and documentation; perform operational checks using external power sources and ground equipment
- Incorporate authorized modifications and ensure compliance with quality control and production procedures
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5+ years aviation maintenance experience on AH-64 aircraft, preferably within the past 5 years
- Ability to obtain and maintain NAC-I T1 Public Trust facility credentials (US Citizenship required)
- Valid passport required for deployment to Morocco
- A&P or FCC license preferred but not required
Key Skills & Knowledge
- Strong communication and troubleshooting abilities across entire aircraft systems
- Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems principles
- Proficiency with hand tools, measuring devices, gauges, torque wrenches, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical data and maintenance manuals
- Knowledge of Quality Control, Production, and Supply procedures
Physical Requirements & Working Environment
- Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, ramps, and ladders for extended periods
- Capability to crouch, crawl, grasp objects, and work with finger dexterity
- Capacity to lift and push/pull minimum 50 pounds regularly
- Must pass Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification
- Ability to work in drafty, noisy, dirty shop environments and austere outdoor conditions
- Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and handle lubricants and dirty parts
- May operate power vehicles, machinery, ground support equipment, and forklifts
Additional Requirements
- Medical/vaccination requirements as specified by recruiting and coordinated via OccuMed
- Interim NACI clearance required for deployment
