Finance Responsible - Greenfield Plant Start-up, Tangier

Sanden is looking for a full-time Finance Responsible to join the start-up team of its new Moroccan plant in Tangier. Sanden is a major manufacturer of automotive compressors. The new HVAC assembly operation follows a nomination by Stellantis, with SOP planned for 2027.

In this role, you will oversee local finance operations, ensuring accurate and timely accounting, compliance with Moroccan statutory and tax requirements, and adherence to audit and free-zone regulations. You will also be the local finance expert, providing hands-on support to the plant and working closely with the wider Sanden finance organization.

Essential responsibilities

• Local accounting operations: manage general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, expense accounting and accounting documentation.
• Financial closing and statutory reporting: prepare monthly, quarterly and annual closings under Moroccan GAAP and group requirements, and support reconciliation of local statutory accounts with group reporting.
• Statutory and regulatory compliance: ensure compliance with Moroccan accounting regulations, statutory filings and free-zone requirements.
• Tax compliance: coordinate and prepare local tax filings (VAT, corporate income tax, payroll-related taxes and other local taxes), monitor deadlines and support communication with authorities and external advisers.
• Audit coordination: act as primary local finance contact for statutory, tax and other local audits, preparing schedules and evidence and following up agreed actions.
• Cash and working capital: support cash-flow planning, payment processes, cash collection and allocation, bank coordination and working-capital execution within group policies.
• Internal controls: execute local finance controls, maintain documentation and cooperate with group internal controls to ensure local implementation and remediation of gaps.
• Process implementation: establish fit-for-purpose local accounting and finance processes for the greenfield operation, support ERP/SAP implementation and continuously improve processes and data quality.
• Business support: provide finance support to plant departments on local accounting, tax and compliance matters, and contribute to operational decisions and cross-functional projects.
• Planning and controlling coordination: provide accurate actuals, accounting explanations and statutory inputs for budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and product cost controlling.

Required experience and education

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, statutory finance, tax or audit, preferably in an automotive industrial environment.
• BAC+5 or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Moroccan accounting standards, tax regulations, statutory reporting and audit requirements.
• Practical knowledge of Moroccan free-zone regulations applicable to industrial operations.

Must-haves

• Strong technical knowledge of Moroccan accounting and local statutory requirements.
• Solid knowledge of Moroccan tax compliance and experience coordinating with auditors, tax advisers and authorities.
• Ability to manage local accounting activities independently and stay closely involved in daily execution.
• Understanding of internal controls and ability to implement group requirements locally with relevant owners.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, with accuracy and reliability under tight deadlines.
• Strong command of spoken and written French and English.
• High standards of integrity, confidentiality and professional judgment.

• Greenfield or plant start-up experience.
• Experience with OEM customer requirements and environment.
• Experience supporting ERP implementation or finance-process set-up.
