Position Summary

Linguists are key players at TransPerfect. Your language skill and subject matter expertise allow you to create and finalize the end product before it goes to the client. Working under the guidance of your manager and in collaboration with Project Managers, you will translate and proofread documents for clients in the Insurance and Legal sectors. Responsibilities

  • Translate documents from English into Simplified Chinese (Singapore) for the Legal and Insurance sectors.
  • Proofread documents for a variety of clients in the Insurance and Legal sectors.
  • Work under the guidance of your manager and in collaboration with Project Managers.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Simplified Chinese (Singapore).
  • Specialized in Legal or Insurance translation.
  • Acute attention to detail, spelling and grammar.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations, especially under tight deadlines.
  • Asian time zone preferred.

Education and Experience

Candidates must meet ONE of the following requirements:

  • A degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies, or an equivalent degree that includes significant translation training, from a recognized institution of higher education.
  • 2 years of translation experience and a college degree.
  • 5 years of translation experience and no college degree.
  • A certificate of competence in translation awarded by an appropriate government body.
