Role Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer at Artefact, you will work on all aspects of data engineering in multidisciplinary client teams. You will be responsible for maintaining strong client relationships on software engineering tasks and supervising junior profiles. You will use data to solve real-world problems across sectors such as retail, luxury, telecom, and healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in agile teams with data experts and non-technical stakeholders to deliver data solutions
  • Deploy software to cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) using DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement software with Python and SQL to create applications and data transformations
  • Develop technical expertise in Software Development, Analytics Engineering, ML Engineering, Cloud Architecture, or Site Reliability Engineering
  • Manage and coach junior team members, identifying their development areas and growth opportunities
  • Anticipate and mitigate project risks from the design phase onwards

Required Profile

  • Software engineering background with proven DevOps / DevSecOps experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLServer)
  • Experience with cloud technologies (GCP or AWS) and big data tools (Spark, Beam, Airflow, Docker)
  • Ability to set up and deploy ML models provided by data scientists
  • Experience across the full project value chain: infrastructure, platforms, data collection, REST APIs, CI/CD
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders
  • Team management capabilities with ability to coach and develop junior engineers
  • Fluent in French and good level of English

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with managed cloud databases (BigQuery, Firestore, Redshift, CosmoDB)
  • Knowledge of indexation systems (ElasticSearch, Vespa)
  • Kubernetes (K8S) experience
