Role overview

Y Strategie is looking for a Senior Front-End Developer to join its IT Development team and report to the Digital Transformation Manager and CDO. You will be the front-end specialist in a team of three (two mid-level developers and one principal developer), building and modernising the systems that power the business.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced developer who will take ownership of the front-end architecture while supporting and coaching mid-level developers.

What you will do

  • Build new features for three core custom systems: a sales quoting tool, a customer portal and a digital onboarding platform.
  • Migrate legacy jQuery-based code to Vue 3 as part of the current modernisation project.
  • Create, maintain and document reusable Vue 3 component libraries.
  • Work with back-end developers on API endpoints to support data delivery to the front end.
  • Optimise existing components, make them modular, and keep legacy logic intact.
  • Keep front-end assets and component libraries up to date.

First 6 months

  • Establish the Vue 3 component architecture with reusable, well-documented components.
  • Become the front-end authority that backend developers collaborate with on API design and integration.
  • Lead the technical approach and execution of the jQuery to Vue 3 migration.

Coaching and collaboration

  • Support and mentor two mid-level developers through code reviews, pair programming and technical guidance.
  • Champion best practices in component architecture, performance and accessibility.
  • Document front-end patterns and standards to upskill the wider team.

Essential experience

  • 5+ years of professional front-end development experience.
  • 2+ years working with the Vue 3 Composition API in production applications.
  • Strong Tailwind CSS skills for responsive, maintainable UIs at scale.
  • Strong understanding of valid, accessible HTML markup that follows W3C rules.
  • Proven experience creating reusable component libraries or design systems.
  • Laravel Blade templating experience.
  • API development: writing Laravel endpoints, or a strong ability to collaborate with backend developers on API design.
  • jQuery experience.
  • Coaching or mentoring experience with junior to mid-level developers.

Technical skills

  • JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+), HTML5, and modern CSS/SCSS/SASS.
  • Git (merging, resolving conflicts, creating and pushing branches), Git workflow and CI/CD basics.
  • Understanding of performance optimisation techniques.
