Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Tooling Teams perform manufacturing functions related to metal working dies and tool making. The team is responsible for completing all assignments to construct, modify and condition metal working dies and may fabricate new gages, cutting or forming tools and fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models and engineering or shop specifications.

Team members perform precision work to exacting tolerances and dimensions, recommend revisions in design and/or substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems encountered, and solve problems relating to unusual materials, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production process. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities

Maintain and troubleshoot assembly fixtures and perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all injection molds to minimize downtime keeping safety as a priority
Disassemble molds and reassemble after cleaning and/or changing part configuration
Troubleshoot molds for repairs and analyze parts for mold repair; complete repairs and maintenance on molds as assigned
Inform Team Leader of requirements to maintain components for stores and repairs
Ensure the Mold Maintenance area is clean and safe at all times
Follow all work instructions and procedures in accordance with TS16949; ensure all paperwork and log books are maintained
Help develop and maintain Mold Standards
Actively pursue opportunities to reduce cost and improve cycle times and support other teams with cost reduction implementations

Required Qualifications

3 to 5 years of experience as Toolmaker in mold maintenance
High School diploma required
Experience with injection mold maintenance and repairs required
Solid understanding of the injection molding process required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel required
Proficient reading design drawings and blueprints
Ability to work flexible work hours, including unscheduled overtime when necessary
Technical English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

Automotive manufacturing experience would be an asset
Experience in machine shop techniques would be an asset
Basic knowledge of Laser welding would be an asset
