About the Role
Join Harmattan AI as an Embedded Software Engineer and contribute to developing cutting-edge UAV systems for autonomous defense applications. You will design software architectures, set up development environments, and integrate drivers and algorithms for sensors and systems while collaborating with algorithmic teams to advance mission-critical technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain operating systems (Embedded Linux or RTOS) for UAV systems
- Participate in improving embedded software architecture for scalability and reliability
- Develop sensor drivers and integrate online algorithms in collaboration with algorithmic teams
- Improve and maintain telemetry systems for drone operations
- Maintain strong coding standards and practices across the organization
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, high-performance systems for field deployment
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field
- Extensive experience in embedded software development, preferably in robotics or aerospace
- Strong proficiency in C/C++; Python experience is a plus
- Proven expertise with Embedded Linux or RTOS and multi-threaded/multi-process systems
- Experience developing and integrating sensor drivers with ability to interpret datasheets
- Hands-on experience with debugging tools (software debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analysers)
- Familiarity with build systems and version control tools (Git)
- Strong understanding of firmware architecture and low-level programming
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work autonomously
- Strong communication and leadership skills across all organizational levels
