Position Overview
We are seeking a Purchasing Engineer for our Casablanca, Morocco location. You will manage all purchasing operations for direct and indirect materials, ensuring compliance with procurement guidelines and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing of direct materials (BOM/production-related) and indirect materials (MRO, services, consumables)
- Ensure accuracy of purchase requests and orders in the ERP system with proper segregation of duties
- Execute raw material procurement in coordination with planners to meet production needs and maintain appropriate lead times and safety stocks
- Monitor and analyze Supplier On Time In Full (SOTIF) performance, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions
- Support supplier audits, evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Negotiate prices, terms, and commercial conditions with suppliers aligned with corporate sourcing policies
- Draft, renew, and maintain supplier contracts in coordination with Corporate Sourcing, Finance, and Legal
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on spending, savings, and procurement KPIs
- Act as main contact between plant and Corporate Sourcing for strategy alignment and supplier category management
- Collaborate with Quality, Finance, Planning, Warehouse, and Production teams
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree in Supply Chain or Procurement
- 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain in industrial or manufacturing environments
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, competitive bidding, and RFQ/RFP management
- Good understanding of ERP systems and purchasing workflows
- Ability to analyze data, build cost models, and monitor supplier performance
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities
- High level of integrity with strict respect for compliance requirements
