Senior Java Backend Engineer

About the Role

Join Mindera as a Senior Java Backend Engineer and work in an Agile, collaborative environment where you'll take ownership of technical development and build high-quality, scalable software systems. You will design and implement robust backend solutions using Kotlin or Java, contributing to the entire software development lifecycle from requirements gathering through deployment.

Main Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable backend solutions using Java or Kotlin
• Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle including requirements, design, coding, testing, and deployment
• Mentor junior developers and share knowledge within the team
• Take ownership of technical aspects and collaborate with team members in a politics-free environment

Must Have

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience specializing in Java backend
• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Proven expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Strong experience in unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD, Shift-Left)
• Mastery of Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Kafka and distributed systems
• Solid working knowledge of Kubernetes
• Expertise in GraphQL Federation
• Proficiency in Azure Cloud environments
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Fluent in English

Nice to Have

• Experience with Spring Boot and other backend frameworks
• Familiarity with Agile development processes
