Senior Backend Developer (Java/Kotlin)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer with expertise in Kotlin or Java to join our collaborative team at Mindera. You will design and implement robust, scalable backend solutions while contributing to the entire software development lifecycle—from requirements gathering through deployment. This is an opportunity to work in an Agile environment, mentor junior developers, and tackle complex technical challenges with cutting-edge technologies.

Main Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend solutions using Kotlin or Java
• Lead complex engineering projects and take ownership of technical aspects
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle including requirements, design, coding, testing, and deployment
• Mentor junior developers and share knowledge with the team
• Work collaboratively in an Agile environment with a focus on high-quality software systems

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience
• Strong backend engineering background with Kotlin or Java
• Familiarity with Micronaut or similar frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot)
• Experience working in Identity teams (authentication, authorization, SSO/OAuth)
• Proven track record leading complex engineering projects
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with IAM platforms (Okta, Auth0, Keycloak, ForgeRock)
• Knowledge of identity/security standards (OpenID Connect, JWT, SAML, MFA)
• Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline exposure
