About the Role
We are seeking professional Berber-English Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) and Video Remote Interpreters (VRI) to join Future Group Translation and Localization Services. You will provide accurate communication between non-English and English speakers, primarily in healthcare and medical settings, ensuring transparency and professional service delivery.
Your Responsibilities
- Answer calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct
- Render all messages accurately and completely without adding, omitting, or substituting information
- Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient clients and service providers with complete interpretation
- Take detailed notes during calls and maintain awareness of industry-specific vocabulary, particularly medical terminology
- Provide exceptional customer service and comply with dress code requirements for video remote interpreting
- Participate in internal professional training and pursue new professional certifications
Required Qualifications
- Native fluency in Berber and fluent English proficiency
- Minimum 1+ years of over-the-phone interpretation experience in a professional interpretation company
- Good knowledge of medical terminology
- High school diploma in your native language
- High emotional intelligence, cultural tolerance, and excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Awareness of legal terminology
- International healthcare certifications (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.)
Technical Requirements
Internet: Dedicated high-speed, private, secured connection with minimum 10 Mbps download and upload speeds. Wired Ethernet connection required (Wi-Fi not allowed).
Computer: Windows 10 or higher, dual-core 2 GHz processor (Intel Core i5 or superior), 8 GB RAM minimum. Must operate in High Performance mode with power adapter plugged in.
Equipment: Noise-cancelling wired headset with built-in microphone (no wireless/Bluetooth). Single device only; no external devices or Chromebooks permitted.
