The Role

As a Data Analyst Intern in the BCG X team, you will work closely with consulting teams on a diverse range of advanced analytics topics. You will leverage analytical methodologies, subject matter expertise, and accelerated execution to deliver value to BCG's consulting case teams and practice areas. You will collaborate with teams to gather requirements, design, develop, deliver, and support analytics solutions serving client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver original analysis and insights to case teams, typically owning all or part of an analytics module
Execute analytical approaches and create defined outcomes, contributing to approach selection focusing on problem solving and client value
Apply analytical, statistical and programming skills to build models, create algorithms and discover knowledge from large and versatile data sources
Wrap outcomes of analysis into ready-to-use software modules, minimal viable products, or dashboards
Train project and client teams on advanced analytics approaches and tools to increase impact
Communicate analytical insights through sophisticated synthesis and packaging of results including presentations and charts

Required Technical Skills

Fluency in Python or R: ability to read, create, debug and package code using IDEs like PyCharm, R-Studio, or Visual Studio
SQL scripting and ability to collect data from relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL)
Data wrangling with Python (pandas) or R
Hands-on statistical inference using Python, R, and MS Excel extensions
Experience in data visualization using Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView, Dash, or similar tools
Self-learning ability and quick ramping in unfamiliar technological stacks

Preferred Technical Skills

Experience building scalable dashboards and web applications using Python or JS frameworks (Django, Flask, React, Vue, Angular)

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, data engineering, data science, statistics, mathematics, or economics
Previous internship experience in Advanced Analytics
Fluent written and spoken English (other languages desirable)
Strong analytical solutioning with hands-on experience through the entire analytics lifecycle
