About the Role
As a Ramp Services Supervisor at Swissport, you will oversee aircraft loading and unloading operations at the airport. You will ensure timely provision of qualified personnel and equipment, coordinate with airlines and airport authorities, and maintain strict compliance with safety, security, and operational standards. This is a hands-on supervisory position in a fast-paced aviation environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate aircraft loading and unloading operations in compliance with load plans and airline directives
- Assign tasks to team members, manage ground handling equipment, and ensure proper positioning of passenger stairs and support equipment
- Ensure safety compliance by monitoring all operations, reporting incidents and aircraft damage, and supporting the Safety Management System
- Manage team discipline, conduct, and working hours; mentor and develop team members and new recruits
- Communicate with turnaround supervisors, traffic control, dispatchers, and airline representatives to ensure on-time flight departures
- Verify equipment condition, manage lashing equipment, and ensure proper container locking and hold security
Key Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of experience in ramp services or aircraft ground handling
- High school diploma (Baccalaureate) or equivalent (Bac +2 preferred)
- Strong knowledge of load planning, aircraft safety procedures, and ISO 9001 standards
- Excellent supervisory and team management skills with ability to mentor staff
- Fluency in English and French; knowledge of local airport procedures
- Physical capability to work in outdoor airport environments and manage equipment operations
