As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you will be a seasoned software engineer who masters the design and development of robust production-grade applications. You may work on internal Leyton CognitX projects (Java/Spring Boot) or assignments for large enterprise clients in varied stacks (Python, Node.js/TypeScript or other), based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Software Engineering – Core of the Role

Design and develop complete end-to-end features: APIs, business logic, unit and integration tests, deployment
Ensure code quality through SOLID principles, design patterns, clean architecture, code reviews, and SonarQube
Build and maintain robust REST APIs with versioning, security, error handling, and performance optimization
Work in CI/CD environments: Git flow, PR reviews, automated pipelines, and regression testing
Ensure scalability and security of production systems

AI Integration – Expected Capability

Integrate LLMs into business applications (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral) with token, cost, and latency management
Build RAG pipelines: chunking, embedding, vector stores, and retrieval as application components
Implement LLM agents with LangChain/LangGraph for automated workflows
Measure and evaluate AI output quality using RAGAS, custom metrics, and monitoring

Leadership & Collaboration

Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, technical mentoring, and best practice sharing
Work directly with clients and product owners to gather requirements and present technical solutions
Participate in architecture decisions and define team technical standards

Project Planning & Delivery

Translate business needs into robust, well-architected technical solutions
Break down strategic objectives into manageable tasks with clear delivery roadmaps
Drive feature delivery on time, aligned with product and business objectives
Track and resolve technical blockers to maintain team efficiency

Ideal Candidate Profile

3 to 5 years of software development experience with strong fundamentals
Proficiency in Java/Spring Boot; ability to switch to Python or Node.js/TypeScript for client work
Proven hands-on experience integrating LLMs into production applications
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
Problem-solving mindset with practical AI judgment and strong client communication skills
