We are seeking an experienced software architect and full-stack developer who thinks like a systems designer, someone who reaches for schema diagrams and load assumptions before reaching for code. This is a fully remote role for someone who enjoys complexity, reasoning about data, scale and reliability, and building AI solutions with Claude.
What you will do
- Own the system design: decide how data is modeled, where state lives, how components communicate and how the system behaves under load. You stay responsible for it once it is live.
- Make the hard, hard-to-reverse design decisions early and reason explicitly about the trade-offs.
- Design and own the data layer for new features, including tables, relationships, indexing strategy and query and load optimization.
- Design queues, background jobs and long-running workflows that stay correct and reliable under heavy load and partial failure.
- Talk to customers to understand how they use the product, and bring those insights into architecture decisions, the stack direction and the product vision.
- Work independently in an AI-first development setup with Claude.

Salary and employment
- $1500 to $3000 per month before taxes, with room for growth and promotion in the months and years ahead

Requirements
- Fluent German, spoken and written
- Solid English skills for smooth communication within the team
- A genuine systems-design background: you can design a database from scratch (tables, relationships, indexes) and reason about load, query performance and data growth
- The instinct to think in terms of consistency, throughput, failure modes and bottlenecks
- Comfort designing queues, background jobs and long-running workflows, and the judgment to make their trade-offs
- Treating reliability, scalability and maintainability as default concerns
- Working autonomously and taking full ownership of tasks
- Comfort talking to customers to understand what they actually need

Your specific tech stack background is not important to us, since AI will be writing 100% of your code.
